XXX Her green eyes stood out in the white snow as she moved silently through the barren wasteland. She had gone off to find her own food, Mance and the others hadn't paid her much mind anyway. She remained quiet pulling the bow string as she moved. There it was the target in front of her. A small white hare, she could almost taste it.
You're mine! You little furry bastard, ye won't get away this time 'round...
Holding her breath she shot, hitting the rabbit right in the side. It let out a terrible noise as it fell. It's body jerking and shaking. A frown fell upon her face, "It was either you or me little friend... a girl's got to eat..."
A rush of sorrow had hit her as she watched the arrow nail the small hare. Killing was necessary to survive, and this one needed to.
It's small white body lay limp, blood stained it's fur and the snowy ground it laid motionless in. She was happy with her kill and would eat well... Trekking back to the camp wouldn't be fun though. A sigh escaped her lips as she felt sad, 'If Rael was stll 'round... it be might fine walking back... little less lonley'
She grabbed the hare by its hind legs before she began her way back.
She found herself thinking more and more about him as the days past and the snow continued to fall more... The silence and time alone gave no relief from it either. She would make do, carry on.
The winds picked up and a chill bit through the furs. Causing shivers down her spin and goose bumps to arise. The cold was a bitter feeling. Her bones bones ached every now and then from it when it was horrendously cold.
She squinted her eyes and pulled her hood tighter... "Damn cold..." she hissed through her teeth. She did not like it one bit... It was life out here though, and it would only get worse... Dragging her feet she went slower, there was no rush to get back... To be drawn into Mance's mess more, but in due time she would... He was gathering more allies. She hadn't strayed to far anyway, just a small walk or so away.
